Jerald “Jerry”Alonzo Carey

Birth Date: August 25, 1966
Death Date: August 22, 2016

Jerald Carey born August 25, 1966 and called home August 22, 2016. He was known to the world as Jerry, Papa and Pops. He is survived by his kids, Jerald, Jr. and Heather, his son in law Saul and his pride and joys, his grandsons Jeremiah and Jaden. He is also survived by his brother John and his family and many, many close friends he considered family. Jerry enjoyed many things such as Fishing, Softball and going to sporting events especially when it was his Oakland Raiders. He loved helping any and everyone and would literally give the shirt off his back. He got the most pleasure out of life when he was with his grandsons, watching them play sports, telling jokes or just sitting together. Jerry also loved coaching. He was able to help coach High School basketball where he developed a passion for helping the kids who needed just a little more tough
love and still to this day has a great relationship with them and their families. If you ask anyone to describe Jerry and what made him unique the first thing would probably be his jokes and sense of Humor. He loved to laugh and make others around him laugh even if you were a stranger. His heart was huge and golden. He will be deeply missed and leaves a large hole in all our hearts. We will always have a void that will never be replaced. Rest easy Dad,
Papa, Pops, and Friend.
We all love you.

  1. So it's coming up on a year that you've been gone everything leading up to that dreaded day comes flooding back I can remember it all. I relive the 22nd as if it were still happening. We're hitting the last of our 1st without you the boys 1st sets of birthdays without you, their 1st days of school without you, their 1st parties without you. Jeremiah isn't looking forward to his birthday this year and that sucks. He misses you so much, we all do. Jaden asked why you didn't come over on his birthday we had to tell him you were watching from heaven, he was ok with that answer since he's only 5. Jeremiah wants so badly to tell you how baseball is going and I know it's breaking his heart that he can't, I'm sure he talks to you at night I know I do. I love you dad, and miss you so much.

  2. Jerry was a great fun person to be around. His grandson Jeremiah played on my grandson baseball team "Star City". He was always a kick at the game, joking, laughing, and adored his grandsons. A typical loving grandpa. A very generous man with a warm and big heart. Rest in peace Grandpa Jerry, you will be missed.

  3. Its hard to believe 2 weeks have passed already, i miss you more then you'll ever know. It has finally started to sink in and the pain gets real. Ive had a quiet phone these last couple weeks but everytime it does ring i think itll be you saying "what are you doing, what are the boys doing" 100 times a day lol. Its funny cause all things i took for granted and found annoying i now miss. I hope you see how hard im working to give you a memorial you deserve, id much rather be raising money for your leg or bday. Its still so hard to believe. We talk about you daily so the boys will always remember. Tomorrow is going to be hard for me dad, my birthday will never be the same without you. I love you and i miss you beyond words. Forever a daddys girl.

  4. All I know is going to the kids baseball games won't be the same without him there, his constant funny "banter" from him to me, my kids and especially Steve will be missed! Lol. He was funny but had a heart of gold . I will miss his loud and over powering voice yelling "my hero". May he rest in peace and may he be with the Angels resting. He was taken so soon. Keep the memories alive and he will always be in our hearts.

  5. Ohhhhh pops… Where to start?! Let's see… Heather and I in high school??? Lol! You never let me live our "apple juice" days down!! I will miss our wave runner days, your moms screamin home made beef jerky when she made it and even when you made it, it was deeeelish!! Your hot wings and parties, always making sure your company had a great time!!! You were always there for anyone and everyone regardless of their situation, always willing to go without to make sure others were ok! This has been a hard pill to swallow for me because of how close our families are!! Jayda still talks about when Jerry and Jerald got her a giftcard to toys r us and she bought her food for her kitchen! She still asks about you often on when you are going to come over and have dinner at our house 🙁 I will miss you coming to my volleyball and softball games, always making anyone around smile and laugh to the point we cry!!! I will never forget the times we got to share the softball field and play together!! I will miss watching Jerald push you up my lawn to get into my house! Lol! I will miss our texts between you, Junior and myself about the raiders and niners seasons! I will miss picking up that phone to be there for you if you needed someone to cry to or cry with! Your farts that cleared rooms for a good 45 minutes! Lol! How much you were in love with Ronda Rousey and the fight we all watched for a good 13 seconds! Lol! How selfless you were on your birthday last year, inviting everyone and taking care of them on YOUR day!! Our late night Denny's trips after volleyball, our Suzie's burgers lunches downtown, trying to not get in fights! Lol! The time you were there for me when my grandmother was assaulted, you were ready to ride, even in your wheelchair!!! You always had my back!! Thank you for accepting Junior and welcoming him in as well! I know you just wanted him around to cook you rice & beans, steak and chicken lol! I am so happy to see that you and the boys got to share your memories in Disneyland for your birthdays!! You left us far too soon, I am not ready for you to be gone!! There are so many memories we have and I am forever grateful that I met you all and became part of your family! You truly were a genuine kind hearted soul and I appreciate all of the time we did have together!!! I will always be there for Heather, Jerald and the boys – we are family!!! I love and miss you!! Until we meet again!!
    Your other daughter,
    Richelle
