Frederika “Fredy” Sullivan

Birth Date: December 30, 1953
Death Date: January 23, 2016

Frederika “Fredy” Sullivan (Schneider) passed away January 23, 2016 after a 3 year battle with cancer, a battle she fought to the very end. Our beloved purple haired wife, mother and Oma.
Fredy was born December 30,1953 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She was a graduate of the Class of 1971 at Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, CA. On October 8, 1972, she married Doug Sullivan in Concord and a few years later, they moved to Sacramento, where they shared 43 years of marriage. In addition to her devoted husband, Fredy is survived by her cherished daughters, Marija (Dan) Cerelli and Meghan Sullivan. The true apples of her eye were her granddaughters, her Sweet Pea Sophia and Munchkin Leilani. She was also very lucky to have so many friends that were more like family. Fredy’s love of her family was beyond compare.
Fredy worked at Golden Empire Elementary School for over 20 years, where she the “lunch lady” to generations of kids. In addition, she worked as a hair stylist at JC Penney for many years and most recently at Chevuex Styling Salon. Places where many started as friends and soon became more like family.
The family would like to take this time to thank everyone for their love and support over the last 3 years. It was amazing to see how much Fredy was loved by all and for that we are forever grateful.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stanford Cancer Institute at the link below

Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Service details will be posted as soon as they become available.

  1. I haven't seen Fredy since middle school. She and I shared a mania for the Monkees. I will always remember her as a sweet, kind presence with malice toward none. Sending peaceful prayers to her spirit and her beloved family.

  2. I met Fredy at Glenbrook Intermediate School a long time ago. She was very nice and we laughed a lot. I enjoyed seeing her at our class reunions. I have a wonderful memory of her at our 10th reunion. She wore a beautiful, long dress and must have been about 8 months pregnant. She looked radiant. It's been nice keeping up with her on Facebook and I am deeply saddened that such a vibrant presence is no longer with us. She will be missed dearly.

  3. I will never forget the image of her gentle and bright face. May the God give her eternal rest and the family the strength to bear the great pain. My condolences go out to you and your family.

    Isabel (Golden Empire)

  4. Tante Fredy you are going to be missed so much. Even though we have been distant over the last years my love for you has always been there and I will always cherish the memories we did have. I know you are watching over the family with my mom. I love you and will miss you dearly.

    Love your niece,
