Catherine Mary Estampa

Birth Date: April 5, 1941
Death Date: January 9, 2016

Catherine Mary Estampa (Fiora) known to all as “Bay” or “Noni” passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Bay was born on April 5, 1941, in McCloud California to Bob and Bina Fiora. After graduating from McCloud High School in 1959, she moved to Sacramento where she met the love of her life Eugene Estampa. They were married on October 14, 1961, and were married for 47 years before Gene passed away in 2008. They lived on Ramsey Drive in North Highlands for the majority of their marriage where the morning ritual among neighbors for the past 40 years was to gather at her house for morning coffee. Bay is survived by her three children Karen, Eric and Tom, and her buddy, pal, caregiver, and partner in crime, daughter-in-law Marlene Estampa. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Kayla, Tierney (Charlie), Eric Jr. (Kyrina), Joshua and Giana Estampa, great grandchild Seonna, sisters Mary Ann Brickell and Nancy Ramsey, and ultimate longtime friend Susie Corder, who helped care for her during her illness. She is also survived by brother-in- law Archie Estampa, sister-in-laws Judy Estampa and Dolly Duff, many nieces and nephews including Debbie, Shay, and Denise, who along with many of her extended children, were by her side when she passed. Over the years Bay was involved with Larchmont Little League, and worked for Associated Professional Appraisers. Noni loved crocheting, especially baby blankets. She liked to travel and was always the first to jump in the car for road trips regardless if it was for the day, the weekend, the week, to watch one of her grandchildren’s sporting events, or to spend some time at the casino. She was an avid Days of Our Lives and General Hospital fan and loved all those damn baby rat dogs that think they are human, but made her happy.

Services are Tuesday, January 19, 2015, chapel of the chimes Reception to follow at the North Highlands VFW Hall 300 U St, Antelope, CA 95843.

  1. With sincere sympathy and love to my family on their loss. I will always have wonderful memories of my kind Auntie Bay and her special way of calming others. I will also cherish all the fun times we had with our families growing up, especially at our Grandparents' house in McCloud. Nothing was better than sitting around the kitchen table eating and laughing. I wish her ever lasting peace in heaven with uncle Gene and I wish my family peace during this difficult time. All my love.

    Diane Palmer

  2. Our hearts and prayers are with the family. We will be forever grateful to Bay and Gene for being the parents they were to us. Their love and guidance lives in our marriage today. We spent many fun years with them and share many memories of road trips to Reno and Tahoe. It brings us peace knowing they will once again be together and looking down on us with their laughter and smiles. Bay was such a gentle soul, loving and generous to all. May she rest in peace having won the biggest of all power balls – eternal love and peace having entered the gates of heaven. We will always love you and hold you close. Candy and Bob Renn

  3. Sisters have a special bond, and the bond we three sisters had was special. We grew up in a strict, loving family, and shared everything. My sister Bay was the sweetest of the three of us. There were good and bad times sharing a lot of laughter and tears. Bay was not only our sister, she was our friend, confidant and we loved each other unconditionally. We could finish our thoughts and sentences and had our own private jokes and language.
(after all we were Italian) We will miss her, but the memories we shared will be with us forever.

Actually Scarlett, we still love you
    Your loving sisters,
    Mary Ann and Nancy

  4. Bay always lit up the room with her smile. She will live on in our hearts and memories. Her life on earth was too short but she left a great legacy. All our love to her family, Tom and JoAnn Simmons

  5. When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. We can now take comfort in knowing that. I will miss the way she always giggled at things when she spoke, and always with a smile on her face. I am certain that she and Gene are both smiling down on all of their family and friends
    Bob
