ARTHUR ANTHONY LOPES
Born August 6, 1947 in Norwood, Rhode Island. He lost his courageous battle against liver cancer on May 21, 2015 surrounded by family and friends, he passed peacefully.
He is survived by his wife Diana, children Lisa Duran (Steven), grandchildren Dakota and Savanna, siblings Debora Brummett (Bruce), Judy, Patti Raymond (Cindy), Chrissy Cronin (Jim), Eric and Terrilyn.
Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony T. and Eugenia Lopes, and his brothers Anthony and Ernie.
Arthur worked for A T & T for 41 years. He made a lot of friends along the way. Arthur loved photography, taking his walks every day, fishing and helping family and friends with computer problems. He loved family parties, and his Thursday night at Starbucks coffee shop with other retirees. Arthur was a huge Star Trek fan, a season ticket holder for the Sacramento Kings and Sacramento Monarchs. He loved helping everyone. He will be missed by his family, Diana’s family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank everyone for your support and prayers. Thank you to those who were there from day one. Friends are welcome for visitation Friday, May 29, 2015 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95838. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 14, 2015 from 1:30 PM to closing at Gibson Ranch. Please announce at the gate that you are attending “Art Lopes Celebration of Life”. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cancer Society.

  1. Dear Uncle Art.. I will always remember your hugs and you funny personality. It was a joy when we could visit with you and your family. I loved it most walking into your little house with everything familiar so I could see and hear everyone's voices and all the memories could flood back into my heart. The newspaper and coffee, the teasing, liissaaaa, the pool, aunt Diana's funny faces she would make. I will miss you so very much. Now Steven is with you and I know he feels love from everyone and knows that he was loved all along. :heart: Cheryl

  2. I have many fond memories of Arthur b4 he moved to California but my fav is going in his back yard with anthony n scouting out n catching lighting bugs. we jarred them up n would sneak them in the house n use as nite lights.. you will be missed so much by so many luv u ART
