Amos Edward Williams

Amos Edward Williams was born on May 16, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At the age of 4 the family relocated to Crescent City, California where he attended his early primary schooling. In 1957 the family moved to Sacramento, where he attended Washington Elementary School in downtown. The family settled in North Sacramento. As a young man he accepted Christ as his savior at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. He attended and graduated from Grant High School where he played football and proudly wore # 22. He served in the United States Army and after discharge he returned to Sacramento, where he worked for the City of Sacramento and sang proudly in the band “Interstate 9.” He worked as a Bail Bondsman until he became ill. In 1990 he married the love of his life Carolyn. Amos loved young people and was the Assistant Coach for the Consumnes College girls basketball team. He went on to work with a basketball program in South Sacramento. In 1996 he became “Papa” to his grandsons after the death of his youngest daughter, Amanda. In Addition to being Papa to his young grandsons Amos became Papa to many of their friends. He never met a stranger. Those who knew Amos knew a great storyteller and someone who made everybody smile. He has the life of the party and everyone loved him. He will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary, Father Troy, sister Sandy, and his daughter Amanda. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Carolyn, siblings, Mary, Michael (Iris), and Annice (Alfred) all of Sacramento. Also left tco cherish his memory are his daughters Teasha, Lynn and Qiana, Sons Louis and LaMont. He also leaves his grandsons, Marquis, Monnard, Marchell, Maurice, Kyden, Louis, Jr. and Jeremiah. and granddaughters Marquisha, Tea’, Nyla and Madison. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and many, many loving friends.
