During my entire childhood my Grandma and her sister lived next door to each other and there was a well worn path between their houses. Going to Grandmaâ??s house was always fun but the real adventure started if my Cousin Jeff was visiting his Grandma next door. Oh the adventures we hadâ?¦â?¦we wouldnâ??t let the younger kids go with us; it was our special time to explore. We would get sticks and poke at rocks looking for lizards or look for pollywogs and frogs. We would find a path or a field we had not already searched and off we would go. Secretly I felt like Jeff had already explored without me and wanted to share what he found. If pomegranates were in season we would pick one from the neighbors tree and run like crazy. What a charmed childhood we had! Many years later we were on a cruise and Jeff, my Daughter Rachelle and I went off to explore Alaska. Rachelle and I would be walking along a path, sidewalk or boardwalk and stop realizing Jeff was gone. Off we went on a search to find him looking in stores, down the street and everywhere we could think of. It never occurred to us to ask him to stop disappearing because it was part of the adventure. We were on ship and there were small ice bergs we three were on deck both Rachelle and I bundled up and Jeff in shorts and a windbreaker. It was great to once again share an adventure with my Cousin Jeff. Now he has left this World on another adventure & if I make it to where he is I hope he shows me everything he has found. You will always have a special place in my heart Jeffâ?¦â?¦â?¦.
