I think of Danny often, and remember him in my prayers. Here is one of my most treasured memories of him and I...
In the early part of 1983, I was referred by my obstetrician to have a sonogram done in the 4th or 5th month of my pregnancy because I had asked if was having twins at every visit to the Dr.'s office. ( Plus I already looked like I was nine months along) And each time he would examine me and listen is my stomach and then say he only heard one heartbeat and that there was only one baby. Finally though he said I could have an ultrasound done and Danny came with me. At the appointment, as the technician was scanning my stomach, she was saying the baby looked healthy and counted 10 fingers and 10 toes. Then she asked us if we wanted to know the baby's sex? Danny and I smiled at each other and said, "Yes!". So she told us we were having a baby girl and asked me if I could feel her kicking? I told her "No, I hadn't felt our baby kick at all yet."
"Well" she said, "She's kicking right now, but you probably aren't feeling it because she's not kicking you. She's kicking the baby standing on her stomach and kicking her! Would you like to know that baby's sex also?"
I said "Yes" as she told us that the 2nd baby was also a girl and I looked over at Danny and was surprised to see that he had tears of joy running down his face! That was the day we found out that we were blessed with beautiful twin girls. We named them Melanie Danielle and Michelle Cherie Klose, and that was one of happiest days of our lives!
